Well as you know, since you are here, my name is Brian Woods and I was born on the 9th November 1966. I lived in Cleator Moor, Cumbria, until I was nine then moved a couple of miles away to Egremont. I have had the nickname 'Pecker' for many years, even before I played darts and it is a name that has stuck. I now live in Aberdeen, where I play county darts for Grampian and for the Masada Bar. I started playing darts when I was 15 years old. I used to play at home on my own until I was asked to play a league match as a stand in for a player who failed to turn up, I won both singles and doubles that night. I dabbled in other sports as a youngster, football, rugby and snooker but grew to love darts and chose to take up darts seriously I was 22 years old. I use 18-gram slim knurled barrels, of my own design, medium length shafts with my personally designed standard flights. I previously used one red, one yellow and one white flight, the colours of my favourite football team, Liverpool. My goal, as with most darts players, is to win the World Championship, I came mighty close in 2008 and intend to improve on that performance. I have competed for my county team, Cumbria, since I was 24 years old and was made Captain in 2007 and gained promotion to division two. As you may be aware I gained my PDC tour card at the 2011 Q School and I am looking forward to the challenge of competing on the PDC tour. I would like to thank everyone at the BDO for their support over the last few years. If you try one of the links and it seems not to be working, it is the web-master doing his stuff to improve the site. He is doing a wonderful job and I appreciate and thank him for all his hard work and expertise. Should any of you want to contact me for any reason, sponsorships, exhibitions, personal appearances or just to ask a question feel free to e-mail me via the contact page or you can leave a message on the guest book if you wish. |
